I'm a physical therapist with 7 years of experience specializing in general orthopedics rehabilitation. I received my DPT from the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences and I am passionate about helping patients regain lost function, get stronger after injuries and understanding their bodies to get back to doing what they love. I have a strong background in exercise, collegiate track and field, volleyball and yoga. When I'm not in the clinic, you'll find me hiking, boxing, doing yoga and taking dance classes. As a former collegiate athlete and a PT who has gone through rehabilitation post ACL tear, I understand and try to incorporate tailored treatment plans that align with each patient's lifestyle and goals.

I’m a licensed physical therapist with 3 years of experience, and a proud graduate of California State University, Northridge. I’ve worked across a wide range of populations including outpatient orthopedics, sports rehab, vestibular therapy, post-operative rehab, and geriatrics, which allows me to tailor care to each individual and their unique goals. Through my mobile physical therapy practice, I provide personalized, one-on-one treatment in the comfort of your home or preferred space. I believe physical therapy should be convenient, effective, and built around real life—not rushed clinic visits. When I’m not working, you can find me spending time with my kids, golfing, or lifting weights—so I truly understand the importance of staying active and moving well at every stage of life.

My name is Arek. I’m a Doctor of Physical Therapy who specializes in orthopedic and sports-related injuries, with experience working with both active individuals and high-level athletes. I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California in 2020 and completed advanced orthopedic (2022) and sports (2024) physical therapy residencies through Adventist Health Glendale. My approach focuses on identifying the why behind your pain and creating a highly individualized plan to help you move better, feel stronger, and return to the activities you enjoy. I value clear communication, hands-on care, and progressive exercise, and I believe physical therapy should be collaborative, empowering, and tailored to you, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

I have been a physical therapist for more than 17 years and graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Master’s in Physical Therapy. My career has been spent primarily in outpatient orthopedics and chronic pain care, where I focus on a comprehensive, whole-person approach to treatment. I’m passionate about helping patients reduce pain, restore movement, and return to the activities that matter most to them. I enjoy partnering with each patient to understand their goals and create a plan that supports both recovery and long-term health. Outside of the clinic, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, staying active in ministry, and taking advantage of all that San Diego has to offer.

I'm a physical therapist in practice since 2007 in diverse patient care settings. After graduating with a doctorate in physical therapy from Rockhurst University, I established solid clinical experience at the outpatient clinic of a trauma level 1 county hospital for 4 years. There I rotated annually through inpatient floors to assist in the ICU and cardiac care units, allowing a depth of understanding for the spectrum of patients needs from acute illness to home. From there, I dove further into work with under-served communities and moved with my family to the Dominican Republic. I worked collaboratively on curriculum revision and taught physical therapy at the local university, researched, provided clinical education and treated a wide variety of patients for 7 years. Now back in the US since 2018, I'm happy to bring my rich experience and bilingual Spanish skill set to treat patients in their homes and community settings. I am a certified clinical instructor and bring a deep concern for my patient's well-being to my care.

HealthSpark connects patients across greater Los Angeles, Ventura County, and San Diego County with licensed physical therapists who come to their home for outpatient physical therapy for back pain, covered by Medicare Part B and major insurers. No homebound requirement.
Back pain refers to discomfort anywhere along the spine, from the base of the neck to the tailbone. It can range from a mild, nagging ache to severe, debilitating pain. Most back pain is mechanical — meaning it comes from how the muscles, joints, and discs in your spine move and interact, not from a serious underlying condition. It's extremely common: about 80% of adults experience back pain at some point. The good news is that most cases improve significantly with the right physical therapy approach, even without surgery or medication.
Back pain can develop from many sources. Poor posture, prolonged sitting, weak core muscles, and repetitive movements are among the most common contributors. Disc herniations, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, and facet joint irritation are structural causes your PT can identify. Stress, sleep quality, and overall fitness level also play a significant role — back pain is rarely caused by just one thing. A thorough evaluation helps identify which factors are driving your pain so treatment targets the right things.
Evaluation at home. The first visit is a full evaluation in the patient's home. The physical therapist asks about the history and goals, watches how the patient moves in the rooms they live in, and builds a plan of care.
Treatment where it happens. Visits follow that plan: hands-on treatment where it helps, and exercises taught with the furniture, stairs, and floors the patient uses every day.
The doctor stays in the loop. The plan of care goes to the patient's doctor, with progress notes as therapy continues, and follow-up visits run until the goals in the plan are met.

Yes. Our licensed physical therapists treat back pain in the patient's home across greater Los Angeles, Ventura County, and San Diego County. Visits are outpatient physical therapy, covered by Medicare Part B and major insurers, with no homebound requirement.
Many patients notice improvement within the first 2-4 weeks of consistent treatment. The timeline depends on how long you've had pain, the underlying cause, and how consistently you follow your exercise program. Your PT will set realistic expectations during your evaluation.
In most cases, no. Clinical guidelines recommend starting physical therapy before imaging for most back pain. Your PT can identify red flags that would warrant imaging and refer you if needed. Research shows that imaging findings often don't correlate with pain levels — many people with 'abnormal' MRIs have no pain at all.
