Conditions we treat
Arthritis doesn't mean you have to stop moving — in fact, the right movement is one of the best things for it. A licensed PT can build an exercise program that reduces your pain, improves your mobility, and helps you stay active. All from home, covered by your insurance.
Get startedArthritis is inflammation of one or more joints, causing pain, stiffness, and reduced range of motion. Osteoarthritis — the most common form — is caused by wear and tear on the joint cartilage over time. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune condition that attacks the joint lining. Both types respond well to exercise-based physical therapy, which is recommended as a first-line treatment before considering surgery or long-term medication.
Osteoarthritis develops from years of joint use, previous injuries, obesity, and genetic factors. The cartilage that cushions the joint gradually breaks down, leading to bone-on-bone contact. Rheumatoid arthritis is caused by the immune system attacking healthy joint tissue. Regardless of type, inactivity and muscle weakness accelerate the progression of symptoms.
Your PT assesses which joints are affected, your current pain levels, range of motion, strength, and how arthritis impacts your daily life — all over video.
Your program includes low-impact strengthening exercises, mobility work to maintain range of motion, and activity modification strategies. The goal is to reduce pain, slow progression, and keep you doing the things you enjoy. Exercise is the single most effective intervention for arthritis.
Between visits, message your PT about flare-ups, exercise tolerance, or changes in your symptoms. Your program is adjusted seasonally and as your condition changes.
Your first visit is about 60 minutes over video. Your PT will assess your joints and build a manageable exercise program you can do at home. Most patients notice reduced pain and improved mobility within 4-6 weeks. Arthritis management is ongoing, and your PT can be a long-term resource.
Virtual physical therapy for arthritis is covered by most major insurance plans. You pay your normal copay — nothing extra for virtual visits.
